Thursday (10-22-2020)  morning, shortly before 4:00am, a Thief River Falls police officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed into Thief River Falls on Hwy 59 south.

The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the speeding vehicle, but it fled through town. The vehicle continued through town on Hwy 59, eluding other squad cars, until losing control in the roundabouts near Barzen Avenue. The adult male driver was taken into custody without further incident and is awaiting arraignment in the Pennington County Jail on charges of Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle. No persons or property were harmed during this event.

TRF police officers were assisted by the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office.
