New power generation construction is well on it’s way to completion just west of Red Lake Falls. Con-Edison is constructing two wind towers and a solar array to create renewable energy for resale about 1 ½ miles west and south of Red Lake Falls. The combined output for the two windmill generators will be about 3 megawatts while the solar array will produce around 1 megawatt of power.

The two towers are about 200 feet high plus the length of the blades and, together with the solar array, are interconnected to the Otter Tail Power Company grid which will purchase the power for distribution.
